As you’ll hear, it was an absolute battle to get this podcast recorded and out to you guys this week – life catches up to you sometimes!
Building off of last week’s episode, we are discussing controlling how and what your kids eat.
It is very easy for your kids to become insulin sensitive, so it makes sense to cut cookies, pretzels, tons of fruit, and candy out of their diets. Since their body composition can completely change quickly, this is a change to make as soon as possible. Even if they are at a healthy weight, you still need to be very conscious of building good food habits that they bring into adulthood.
I also know that you can make eating healthy interesting and fun. In today’s episode, I will share a way to leverage imagination and storytelling to help your children eat better. I wrap up with the simple meals I feed my family on a regular basis.

Can you share some of your soup recipes?
What’s your take on trying to get kids to gain weight? My son has a super fast metabolism (I did also as a child). Our ped suggested ice cream every night. I’m trying to find the right balance…how to teach him good eating habits while also trying to gain weight. Thx!
If it’s not an emergency (meaning he’s not dangerously underweight or having failure to thrive) then I’d just focus on tons of fat but not more sugar than usual. It depends how picky he is but you can come up with some great, high fat and low or no sugar dips that he can eat. Obviously full-fat everything – nothing reduced fat. Good luck!
